A Heartfelt Evening of Reflection and Celebration at Al Amanah College


On Friday, 21st November, Al Amanah College hosted its 2025 Annual Business Dinner under the theme “Celebrating a Year of Learning, Growth & Achievement.” The evening brought together staff, families, distinguished guests, and friends of the College for a warm and uplifting celebration of community and progress. The event began with a meet-and-greet led by the Executive Staff before guests took their seats for the formal program.

The evening commenced with an opening by emcee Nada Khaled, an Al Amanah College graduate and active member of the Alumni Committee. Nada introduced the theme with a heartfelt reminder of the importance of gratitude for the blessings enjoyed as a school and community, while offering sincere supplications for those enduring hardship around the world. A serene recitation from the Holy Qur’an by recent graduate Amaan Shah followed, setting a reflective tone for the ceremony, before the College Choir delivered a moving performance of the Australian National Anthem under the direction of Mr Abboud.

Principal Ayman Alwan reflected on the major milestones that shaped the year, including the successful opening of the new Year 7 class at the Bankstown campus and the continuation of key initiatives such as the joint Umrah trip, the Al Amanah Alumni Committee, and the thriving Qur’an School. A highlight of the year was the strong support from Ms Tina Ayyad MP, whose efforts secured a $100 000 community grant to transform the old hall into a modern digital library, with Marvel Group awarded the tender for this exciting project. Mr Alwan also acknowledged the College’s strong academic performance, significant advancements in technology and cybersecurity, and paid tribute to long-serving staff whose dedication continues to shape the legacy and success of Al Amanah College.

His address was complemented by religious advice from Sheikh Mahmoud Alwan on behalf of Professor Sheikh Salim Alwan, Chairman of Darulfatwa, the Islamic High Council of Australia, who delivered an inspiring message emphasising the value of knowledge and its role in nurturing a strong, ethical, and united community.

The evening was a heartfelt celebration of the dedication and tireless efforts of teachers, staff, and supporters who contribute each day to the growth and wellbeing of the students. As Al Amanah looks ahead, the College remains committed to fostering excellence, strengthening community engagement, and upholding Islamic values, continuing to inspire and support future generations.

Amina Saad delivered a heartfelt reflection on how Al Amanah shaped her character and faith, celebrating the school’s enduring values and expressing pride in its mission to nurture excellence, integrity, and service in every student. As a highlight of the evening, the awards ceremony celebrated the dedication and service of staff, with milestones ranging from five to twenty-five years of service. Liverpool Campus Primary School Deputy Principal Mohamad Halabi announced the award recipients, who were then presented with their honours by Principal Ayman Alwan and Sheikh Fawaz in recognition of their outstanding contributions throughout 2025.

The evening continued with the Award Ceremony during which awards were presented to the following staff members:

5 years of Service: Hayat Hazouri, Noura Awad and Dilek Cakir

10 years of Service: Jessica El Hazouri, Bassam Adra and Sarah El Sabeh

20 years of Service: Hoda Baraghit and Faten Arnaout

Outstanding Performance: Pakiza Lalee, Mariam Sidaoui, Nisrine El Hashmawi, Mona El-Mazloum, Noura Awad, Emna El-Zahab and Dalal Saad

Leadership: Mayada Hamouda, Amal Nachar and Talahl Jamleoui

Volunteer recognition: Mouhammad Aweek

Special Recognition: Jenan Bakka and Tina Ayyad, MP

The audience then enjoyed a video presentation capturing the key achievements of the year. It showcased a range of initiatives, including the grand milestone of opening the Bankstown Campus high school, the continuation of the School Qur’an Program, and the month-long Mawlid celebrations, highlighting the ongoing growth, spirit, and innovation across the College.

The evening concluded with a heartfelt address from the Chairman, reflecting on the school’s remarkable progress and shared vision for the future. Under the leadership of Principal Ayman Alwan, milestones such as the high school expansion, the development of the Alumni Committee, the success of the Qur’an School, and the joint Umrah trip demonstrated the commitment of staff and the strength of the Al Amanah community.

In his closing remarks, the Chairman acknowledged long-serving staff and reaffirmed the College’s dedication to nurturing its students and supporting its community, ensuring Al Amanah continues to stand as a beacon of excellence and unity for years to come.
